Alaska Bee Atlas Registration Form

Experience level(Required)
Please indicate the name of the colored hexagon priority grid you will be sampling in. Click on the map link below, then click the hexagon in your sampling area. The “Grid ID” is the grid name. Ex. Grid ID: AB-5. You can toggle the grids on/off to see the map more clearly by clicking the side bar with the different priority levels.
PLEASE NOTE: We are prioritizing sampling from Highest to Low Priority Grids in 2025 (unless they occur on USFWS managed lands). Sampling from Lowest Priority Grids will be accepted based on available funding.

Please indicate how many sampling events you anticipate conducting over the summer. *A single sampling event is a collection method (with traps and/or net) at one site location in a 24 hour period.

What type of supplies do you need?
Please check all that apply. A kit includes bee bowls or a net, appropriate amount of sampling collection cups, preservative, and mailing bag. For 2025, we will not be supplying blue vane traps.
Receiving Supplies
Sampling supplies can be mailed or picked up at UAA. We contact you to coordinate a pick up time. If you want supplies mailed, please add your mailing address in the comments section below.
Statement of Understanding(Required)
By checking “Yes” you acknowledge that you understand the following: you may be required to purchase some materials on your own in order to participate in the type of survey you desire (e.g. dish soap, insect net, preserving alcohol, etc.). You will be required to coordinate drop off or mailing the specimens you collect at the end of your sampling events to the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) or a designated Bee Atlas member. You will be required to mail or email datasheets and photos at the end of your sampling events. You will respond to email or phone calls within a timely manner.
