ACCS Metadata

ISO Metadata ACCS

Metadata entry form that generates ISO metadata xml file for ACCS.
  • Metadata will be sent by email once this form is submitted. Enter the email address to which you want the metadata sent.
  • Enter name of person who produced dataset.
  • Enter organization for person who produced dataset. "Alaska Center for Conservation Science, University of Alaska Anchorage" is entered by default.
  • Enter position title of person who produced dataset.
  • Enter phone number of person who produced dataset.
  • Enter fax number of person who produced dataset. Fax number for ACCS is entered by default.
  • Enter address of organization.
  • Enter email address of person who produced dataset.
  • Enter business hours of contact organization.
  • Enter website of contact organization.
  • Date Format: YYYY dash MM dash DD
  • Enter human readable title of dataset (plain English only).
  • Enter abstract for dataset: approximately 150-250 words, describing the background, methods overview, and results.
  • Enter one to two sentence description of purpose of dataset.
  • Select progress status from drop down menu.
  • Select maintenance frequency from drop down menu.
  • Select ISO theme category from drop down menu.
  • Enter single word description of geographic extent. "Alaska" is entered by default.
  • Enter keyword description of dataset topic. For example, enter "land cover" for a vegetation map.
  • Enter computing environment, including operating system, program, and version, used to create dataset. For example, "Microsoft Windows 10 ESRI ArcGIS 10.5.1", which is entered by default.
  • Enter west bounding longitude in decimal degrees in the NAD1983 datum (or WGS1984 datum for datasets that extend beyond North America). Western boundary of Alaska entered by default.
  • Enter west bounding longitude in decimal degrees in the NAD1983 datum (or WGS1984 datum for datasets that extend beyond North America). Eastern boundary of Alaska entered by default.
  • Enter southern bounding latitude in decimal degrees in the NAD1983 datum (or WGS1984 datum for datasets that extend beyond North America). Southern boundary of Alaska entered by default.
  • Enter northern bounding latitude in decimal degrees in the NAD1983 datum (or WGS1984 datum for datasets that extend beyond North America). Southern boundary of Alaska entered by default.
  • Select file format from drop down menu. Only file formats that should be used for sharing data via the internet are listed.
  • Enter data type. For vector data choose from: point, polygon, line. For raster data choose from: 1 bit, 2 bit, 4 bit, 8 bit unsigned, 8 bit signed, etc.
  • Enter compression technique for raster data. For vector data, enter "N/A".
  • Update address to the catalog page for the dataset. Alternatively, enter the public location of another address if the dataset is not included in catalog.
  • Enter description of consistency of dataset and checks performed.

    Example:
Basic checks were performed to ensure integrity and consistency. No errors were found during review.
  • Enter description of dataset completeness and known omissions.

    Example:
These data are dependent on the research and observations of scientist, land managers and professionals and reflect our current state of knowledge. Many areas are under surveyed, thus absence of data in a given area does not necessarily indicate that non-native plant species are absent. Unfortunately, non-native plants continue to be introduced to Alaska and Canada; it is likely that recently established infestations are not captured in this dataset. For these reasons the data served here should not be used as a substitute for on-site surveys.
  • Enter description of quantitative dataset/attribute accuracy.

    Example:
Distributions of Terrestrial Coarse-filter CEs were determined from a variety of sources including National Land Cover Database 2011, Vegetation Map of Northern, Western, and Interior Alaska, Circumboreal Vegetation Map, Landscape level ecological mapping of Northern Alaska, and National Hydrography Dataset Flowlines. Attribute accuracy is equivalent to the accuracy of the source datasets.
  • Enter description of horizontal positional accuracy.

    Example:
No independent accuracy assessment has been conducted for the distribution of Terrestrial Coarse-filter CEs. Because CEs were created with a multi-source approach, there is no existing accuracy assessment that serves as a surrogate. National Land Cover Database and Vegetation Map of Northern, Western, and Interior Alaska the best available land cover datasets that cover the Central Yukon study area. The Vegetation Map of Northern, Western, and Interior is a composite of regional landcover maps, and therefore accuracy varies regionally within the extent of the dataset. Portions of the CE distributions that were derived from the Vegetation Map of Northern, Western, and Interior Alaska vary regionally in accuracy as well. The National Hydrography Dataset Flowlines contributed to the delineation of some floodplains within the Central Yukon study area. The National Hydrography Dataset has low accuracy and is outdated but represents the best available data for rivers and streams.
  • For datasets that incorporate a z-axis, enter description of vertical positional accuracy. Default value is for datasets that do not incorporate a z-axis.
  • Describe detailed methods for production of dataset.
  • Select the number of source or input datasets to include. These should be the datasets that the target dataset was developed from.
