Timm received a B.S. in Biology from the University of Virginia. Prior to joining Alaska Center for Conservation Science, he worked for the Chugach National Forest. His field-related specialization is the identification of vascular plants both for botanical studies and support of wildlife studies. He has experience with geographic information systems (GIS), including ESRI spatial analyst and other raster manipulations, web design with a focus on sharing information and hosting data, and managing data for complex projects. When not working, he enjoys exploring and skiing his way around Alaska and making swords and muskets.
