Timm received a B.S. in Biology from the University of Virginia and has eight years of biological and mapping experience in Alaska working for USDA Forest Service and Alaska Center for Conservation Science. He specializes in the identification of vascular and non-vascular plants for botanical, ecological, and zoological studies. He is fluent in geographic information systems (GIS), python, R, and web design with a focus on data sharing and mapping applications. He has also managed data for three landscape-scale ecological assessments. His current passion is to intersect computer science and ecology for analysis and prediction. When not working, he explores and skis his way around Alaska, forges swords, and builds muskets.
